How I’m Refreshing My Space with Simple Design Updates
Last week, I decided to take my own advice and finally tackle some long-overdue projects around the house.
We kicked things off by getting our rugs cleaned and swapping them from room to room. If you caught my REEL, you know that the first rug swap took some serious first-day-of-school mom energy to get started. But sometimes, you just have to dive in and make it happen, especially when it’s about bringing your own home back to life!
It’s crazy how much I’ve let this place slide, especially when I spend my days designing functional and aesthetically pleasing homes for others. I recently looked up the shoemaker quote—“The shoemaker’s children always go barefoot.” It was first published in 1621 (over 400 years ago)! 😂
Maybe we’ve all been too tired to continue our jobs outside of our jobs for centuries. Is that it? We’re just too spent at the end of the day? I know it’s common to put ourselves last when it comes to taking advantage of our own strengths, but I’m done with that 👋
I have a beautiful home and a lot to be grateful for, but I need to feel inspired by my surroundings every day. Sometimes, a simple change like swapping rugs is all it takes to kick-start that inspiration. Just start somewhere… anywhere! Here are a few of my beyond must-haves —the items I can’t live without anymore.
xo,
