Don’t think of your apartment as temporary

Our tip for brightening up a dark rental space is to make it feel lived in. Use the blank slate of your rental as the perfect neutral backdrop for collections that speak to you. Don’t think of your apartment as temporary. Think of it as home. Hang colorful artwork that legitimately puts a smile on your face every time you catch a glimpse of it. Fill your space with thoughtful furnishings that are both functional and inviting. Maximize your rug sizes to create cozy and grounded space. Buy lamps, scale them up, fill them with soft white bulbs, and turn them all on daily. Get a feel for the light level you feel most comfortable in. Make your apartment a home you cannot wait to come home to, no matter how much natural light you get.
