This month’s MMDH Monthly Must Haves round-up from a slew of vendors within our affiliate families! So fun to broaden our horizons to other vendors, although if you are on the hunt for our Amazon Storefront, you can always find it HERE.

We are dedicating this month’s must haves to this back to school season we are in. My kids head back this week already… and I’m kind of excited that means Fall is right around the bend 🤫 Let’s have fun with it, shall we?!

August’s Monthly Must Haves

1. KID’S COLOR-BLOCK COAT

Wishing they made this in my size! There is not much better than being ready for your kids’ first chilly day of Fall with a versatile fleece. I’ve 100% been the mom that is digging for a light weight coat the day the weather officially shifts around here, why not be prepared this year.

2. DINO BACKPACK

These small-scaled kids backpacks are thee cutest colorful adds to the school year. Always the best for preschool kiddos or family trips to the big city. Finn is 9-years-old, and he just grabbed his preschool backpack to head to a friend’s house the other day! Worth a splurge when it is a bag that will last them a long time!

3. METALLIC HIGH-TOPS

Classic metallic high-tops for the little one in your life. They had to make the MMDH Monthly Must Haves list, because I would have lived for these, and Maizie will be sporting high-tops all Fall. Love that these are bold, but super versatile for dressing up or everyday. Love them!

4. NAVY COLOR-BLOCK HIGHTOPS

Finn is always on the hunt for shoes with color… love that these are neutral with pops of personality on the back ribbon and front sole. So classic for any kid 🙌

5. COLOR-BLOCK SOCKS

I’m seeing a theme here 😂 I am always game for a set of classic colorful socks that will get my kiddos through a full season of chilly weather. These are the coziest!

6. RAINBOW FUR COAT

Again… let me just hunt for this puppy in my size! Love any accent on a staple piece that makes a statement of goodness and full-on personality, while keeping it classic. Maizie loves a definite dose of flair on anything she wears, but I try to tone it all down with neutral base colors when I can 😉

7. SPLASH OF COLOR BACKPACK

This bold beauty is what I would call a “neutral” accessory, because it legitimately goes with any outfit your child wears out in public! Bring all of the colors together with this clutch all-purpose kids’ backpack 👍

8. WALL CALENDAR

My sister’s family lives by this wall calendar at the beginning of every school year. The more activities and people involved, the better to have it all up in front of you. Mudroom, kitchen, home office-ready! This thing is made to stand the test of a year… starting in August!

9. COLORFUL STICKY NOTES

This two-size sticky note stack is perfect to have ready to roll at your calendar. For all of those dates that may need to shift, or events that get cancelled… sticky notes are the way to keep your calendar looking fresh!

10. PENCIL POUCH

I’m a lady with 5 pouches in any bag. I use my kids’ backpack pockets as their pouches, although there are always loose items that can be contained better in a big bag. You’ll forever know where a pen, a chapstick, or a tissue is with a few fun mini pouches.

11. FELT TIP PENS

I got a set of these for Mother’s Day. That is how much my family knows I love a good color coded list. Keep a few different colors in your purse, your kitchen drawer, your desk cup… really just to make things look prettier while organizing your thoughts on the daily!

12. MOLESKIN NOTEBOOK

The classic Moleskin journal in any color is a must have in your teenager’s backpack OR your work bag! Keep all of your thoughts in one place in one of these super durable mid-scale notebooks!

13. COLORFUL PLANNER

My calendar life currently falls on my computer, although I was a hand written planner for decades! I have KEPT every planner I have had since 2004… please don’t tell my minimalist husband 🥴 Something about a solid planner got me, and this colorful number is too good to pass up ask we kick into the school year!

14. DRAWER ORGANIZER

I organized our junk drawer last week… yep, that life-giving task would have been even more rewarding with these color-block organizers! SO GOOD! Make fun out of the most un-fun tasks in your day. Also, how great to teach the family how to get on the color coding train! 🚂
