When a client comes to you with a distinct design aesthetic that they have already started to gravitate towards throughout their home, the job of the designer is streamlined significantly. BUT when you are a designer who thrives on color, and the client’s goals for their space are black, white, and a mix of neutral metallics and textures, well now there’s a challenge! Well I was up for the challenge on this one, as it was a project for one of the legitimately nicest families out there, and I knew we could make it happen together.
We furnished this very stark space with layers on layers of blacks, whites, and neutrals. We added a plethora of texture and patterns through the addition of accessories, while keeping everything within the same modern chic vibe. The homeowners wanted this space to feel established and cozy, as well as kid friendly and approachable. They trusted me with one bold pop of custom colorful artwork over the fireplace, which added the perfect conversation starter to the otherwise neutral palette.
This space was an exciting and challenging project, mixing in a few of the client’s own finds with a slew of new furnishings. These pieces will all seamlessly evolve with this family as they grow over time.
